Trang is a province located in the southern western coast of Thailand, located in the south, west coast, adjacent to the Andaman Sea of the Indian Ocean with a total area of 4,917.519 square kilometers or approximately 3,088,399.375 rai. The area is the 4th largest in the South and the 33rd in the country, a distant of 828 kilometers from Bangkok along the Petchkasem route. It has an area of the coastline along the province's length of 119 kilometers, consisting of 46 small and big islands, of which the significate islands are such as Koh Libong, the largest island, Koh Mook, Koh Kradan, etc. The territory contacting various provinces are as follows:
The north is next to Thung Song District of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and Klong Thom District of Krabi Province. The south is next to Thung Wa District of Satun Province and the Andaman Sea Indian Ocean. The east is next to Khuan Khanun District, Kong Ra District, Tamim District of Phatthalung Province (with mountains as border line). The west is next to Klong Thom District, Koh Lanta of Krabi Province and Andaman Sea in the Indian Ocean.
Geography
Most of the area is generally high and low, interspersed with mountains, large and small scattered everywhere with a few flat areas where rice is grown. In the east, there is Banthat Yao mountain range from north to south and is the boundary line between Trang and Phatthalung provinces. There are about 20 percent of the forest area of the province. The forest is a rainforest. As for the area adjacent to the sea, there is a mangrove forest that is still fertile with 46 islands, of which 12 islands are in the area of Kantang District, 13 islands are in Palian District and 21 islands are in the Sikao District.
